THROW FIVE BALLS AT SOMEONE AND THEY’LL DROP ALL OF THEM. THROW ONE AND THEY’LL CATCH IT.

A brand is not simply a pretty picture. A brand is a reputation, an experience. We tailor-make all aspects, from logos and photography to copywriting and brand guidelines. Through research and exploration, we will design a memorable brand that you will be proud of and that will secure your place at the top of the Premiership.

BRAND IDENTITY STRATEGY

But I know that when I arrive at the King’s Landing, a sword forged from Valerian steel not going to let me down.

That feeling comes from the history of Valerian steel, the reputation of people who use the sword and my own experience. A great brand brings all those elements together.

The most important thing for any brand is to be remembered. If people think of you when they’re deciding what to buy, there’s a chance they’ll spend their money on your product or service.

Nobody can control people’s thoughts but we can create a strong brand identity, perhaps as part of a brand strategy, to influence how they think about your brand.

Our approach involves tapping into your company’s DNA, finding the treasure that nobody else has got and using it to create branding that sticks in people’s minds.

We know about the science of design. We know about juxtaposition of photography and typography. And we know that the key to a successful brand is a great story.

ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY? THEN WE’LL BEGIN.

LOGO DESIGN

Babies can recognize Captain Sanders on the KFC logo now, they get excited even if they’re just driving past in the car.

A logo is a flag that you fly so everyone knows who you are. The more people that recognize it, the more successful you’ll be.

First impressions are everything. You wouldn’t turn up to a first date in your pyjamas yet many people have logos – the first point of contact between their branding and the world – that look nice in one environment but fail miserably in others.

Think of a logo in terms of a building. If a construction company built you a house with five floors, they’d lay foundations for five floors. If you then wanted another floor they’d say no because the building would fall down.

It’s exactly the same with a logo. So many people have five storeys built and then realize they need their logo to work in one color or on the back of a high visibility jacket but can’t because of poor logo design.

When we design a logo we build foundations for 100 floors. That way you know that whether you use it on a cufflink or the side of a building, your logo will retain its brand identity and your first impression will count.

Would you wear a suit or a shell suit on a first date?

IS THE ANSWER SMART?

CORPORATE IDENTITY

But they will sniff that something is off with the brand. If they do that, they won’t buy what you’re selling.

A corporate identity is the visual look of a brand and its meaning to staff. It’s important because people judge books by their covers and if your branding doesn’t look good, nobody will buy into your brand.

Our corporate identities make people proud. Once we’ve found out what makes you tick, we’ll design a logo and visual architecture that staff and customers want to be associated with.

We can also write a mission statement, so everyone in your company knows who you are and what your brand values are about. Coming across staff members who don’t know their onions can be off-putting to clients and customers but by the time we’ve finished, everyone will be singing from the same hymn sheet.

STRIKE UP THE BAND.

BRAND GUIDELINES

They’d mess up hundreds of hours of design within a week if we didn’t give them brand guidelines.

It only takes a minute to destroy your brand identity. We can spend weeks creating a look that will get you more business but if your logo ends up being used in the wrong way, your customers will get confused and disappear into the arms of the nearest competitor.

One-man bands might be able to make sure their corporate identity is being used properly at all times. However, a business with lots of employees in different offices can’t easily police how their corporate identity is used across the company without brand guidelines.

We won’t bore you with hundreds of rules. We’ll just give you enough information to make sure that whether they’re in Cape Town or Kampala, PR or HR, everyone in your organisation knows how to use your corporate identity in the way we intended.

LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T LOSE YOURS.

COPYWRITING

There’s a fine line between writing something that’s ‘so what’ and creating something that people will read.

Communication is vital to the success of any brand. If people like the way you talk to them, they’re more likely to buy your product or service than that of a competitor who doesn’t communicate so well.

Although words are our main means of communication, many companies are happy to let theirs be written by enthusiastic in-house staff that don’t know their ampersand from their colon.

We believe that writing is a specialist subject. You wouldn’t go to a haberdasher for meat and you shouldn’t go to anyone other than a copywriter for copywriting.

Our copywriters eat, sleep and drink words. Whether it’s brochure writing, website copy or an advert you need, they’ll sniff out the tone of voice that suits your brand and encourages people to like you more than your rivals.

The average person is exposed to 3,000 commercial messages a day…

MAKE SURE YOURS IS ONE OF THE FEW THAT GETS READ.

IMAGE RESEARCH

That doesn’t say anything about difference!

Why are people going to use you? I know how you dug that hole in the mud. I know how you built that building. What’s your point of difference? That’s where we come in. We find that difference.

Adages become old because they’re true. You shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. The grass is always greener on the other side. And a picture is definitely worth a thousand words.
So many companies invest in design, print and even copywriting but take a ‘that’ll do’ attitude to photography. Actually, that won’t do.

An eye-catching picture can be the difference between you winning new business and not. That’s why image research is as important to us as colours, logos and typography.

Whether it means trawling through the millions of pictures in our image banks or art directing a photo shoot, we’ll go the extra mile to make sure your website images, brochure images and other suitable imagery are bang on the money.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS REMEMBER THAT ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
